SRPSKA TO HOST GENERAL PRACTICE/FAMILY MEDICINE SOUTHEAST EUROPE CONFERENCE

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 15 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska will host the 10th Conference on General Practice /Family Medicine Southeast Europe, which is scheduled to take place in October 2027, Draško Kuprešak, the Head of the Association of Family Medicine Doctors of Republika Srpska, cited in his SRNA statement.

Kuprešak stated that the decision was made during the 9th Conference, held in Ljubljana from June 5 to 8. “The Republika Srpska’s candidacy received unanimous support from the Association’s Board, which is a reflection of the international credibility and reputation held by the Family Medicine Doctors Association of Republika Srpska,” Kuprešak emphasized. He said that organising such a prestigious event would be an opportunity to showcase the achievements in the development of family medicine in Republika Srpska - from academic and clinical progress, to quality and safety in healthcare, and the implementation of an integrated information system. Kuprešak explained that the graphic and thematic concept for the 10th conference was presented in Ljubljana, and that the event is expected to be held under the slogan: “Together for a Healthier Tomorrow / Technology Connects Us, Knowledge Guides Us, the Patient is at the Center.” According to him, the participants were also introduced to the natural and cultural potentials offered by Banja Luka and Republika Srpska. The Association of General Practice/Family Medicine has existed for 22 years and leads numerous initiatives aimed at improving the position of family medicine within national healthcare systems. Southeast Europe countries participate in its activities, including Turkey, Albania, North Macedonia, Croatia, Serbia, Bulgaria, Slovenia, Romania, and BiH - where the entity-level associations are independently represented.
