SAVIĆ: NATURAL GAS INTRODUCTION WILL BOOST ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT

MILIĆI, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ – Milići Municipality Mayor Marko Savić has told SRNA that introducing natural gas is a major investment that will stimulate economic development, especially in the industrial sector.
"The use of this energy source, as an additional significant energy supply, primarily for industry, increases the potential of production capacities," said Savić, commenting on the recent launch of gas pipeline construction in the eastern part of Republika Srpska. He points out that introducing natural gas also opens the possibility of considering the construction of a municipal heating plant, since gas is one of the fuels used for heating buildings. Savić emphasized that this project would improve the situation in Milići and bring numerous positive effects across various sectors, including tourism, and would also support rural development. He adds that gasification will bring many benefits to households, from economic affordability and energy efficiency to reduced environmental impact through lower air pollution, which will positively affect public health. The mayor of Milići expressed his gratitude to the Republika Srpska Government and President Milorad Dodik, without whose support this major investment, as well as many others in Republika Srpska, would not be possible. The beginning of the gas pipeline construction in the eastern part of Republika Srpska was officially marked in Šekovići on June 15. The project includes the construction of a 48-kilometer gas pipeline along the Šekovići–Vlasenica–Milići–Igrišta–Han Pijesak route, with accompanying infrastructure, including the installation of metering and regulation /M&R/ stations in each of the five municipalities. The Government of Republika Srpska has allocated BAM 74 million for this construction phase from the budget through its public investment programme.
