BLAGOJEVICH: ESTABLISH SERBS - AMERICANS STRATEGIC PARTNERSHIP

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ - Former Governor of the U.S. state of Illinois Rod Blagojevich has stated today in Banja Luka that the current political climate should be used as an opportunity to establish a strategic partnership between the Serb and American peoples, similar to the one that existed historically.

"The policy of U.S. President Donald Trump opposes everything that former presidents Joseph Biden and Barack Obama stood for. This moment should be seized to reconnect the American and Serb peoples," Blagojevich said at a press conference following a meeting with the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik. He emphasized that Serbs share many values with the American people. "There were some radicals who took advantage of the situation to suppress the freedoms of people and persecute their elites, not just here, but around the world. That's why I will do everything I can to inform people in the Trump administration about the situation here," Blagojevich added. He expressed great hope regarding the relationship between the Serband American peoples. "I'm grateful to be here. We are proud of you, President of Republika Srpska, and I am also overjoyed to be in Republika Srpska and in the regions which my family originates from," said Blagojevich.
