RESERVE POLICE IN FAVOUR OF CITIZENS’ SECURITY

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 23 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Interior Minister Siniša Karan has stated today that the planned introduction of reserve police is not a hostile act toward anyone in the Federation of BiH, but rather a measure aimed at ensuring the safety of citizens, especially during natural disasters.
"Anyone who tries to give this initiative any meaning beyond its policing purpose is engaging in politicking," Karan told the press in Banja Luka. He added that the key reason for adopting the Bill on Amendments to the Law on Police and Internal Affairs under urgent procedure, which foresees the establishment of reserve police, is the shortage of officers and staff within the Ministry of Interior to carry out everyday police duties.
