FALSE NARRATIVE OF CIVIC BiH HAS BEEN DEFEATED

BANJA LUKA, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ –Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik says the ruling of the Strasbourg Court in the Kovačević case marks the defeat of the false narrative of a civic BiH, and called on Bosniaks to reach an agreement based on the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution of BiH.

Dodik says that for years there has been an attempt to maintain the theory of a civic state in BiH, emphasizing that BiH is a union of two entities and three constituent peoples. “Are you saying that Bosniaks are ready to give up their national prefix to become just citizens? Only in one case – a political - to dominate BiH. That has come to an end,” Dodik told the press in Banja Luka. He pointed out that various hypocrites, like Slaven Kovačević – who has changed his national affiliation multiple times – led to the exposure of earlier manipulations, including the claim that the representative of BiH is a Muslim. “In the Strasbourg Court, he lobbied his colleagues who issued the initial verdict. That verdict was false, as shown by the ruling of the Grand Chamber of the Strasbourg Court. The narrative that BiH is a community of citizens – Bosnians and Herzegovinians – is a delusion,” Dodik stated. He assessed that it would be best for the Bosniak people to talk with political representatives of Croats and Serbs. “It would be best for them to engage in dialogue, because not only have the ideologies they relied on collapsed, but BiH itself has also crumbled,” Dodik said. He noted that this situation does not politically bother Republika Srpska and added that BiH will cease to exist the moment no one is interested in working at the joint level anymore. “We are becoming less and less interested. We are only filling gaps. We’re not doing anything else, and we’ll be doing even less in the future,” Dodik remarked. He called on Bosniaks to reach an agreement, stating that its foundation must be the Dayton Peace Agreement and the Constitution. “To go through all the issues and the false reforms they’ve implemented. To see what is viable and what is not, in order to try to reach an agreement that could serve as a foundation for BiH’s functioning,” said Dodik, reiterating that Republika Srpska supports a constitutional, not an unconstitutional, BiH.
