RAMIZ KRDŽIĆ ATTACKS ABBOT OF KARNO MONASTERY AND A POLICE OFFICER
SREBRENICA, AUGUST 14 /SRNA/ – A certain Ramiz Krdžić, while intoxicated, attacked the abbot of the Karno Monastery near Srebrenica, Luka Babić, as well as an officer of the Srebrenica Police Station, Branimir Kojić, president of the Srebrenica Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians, told SRNA.
Kojić stated that last night, for who knows how many times now, Abbot Luka was attacked – this time along with a police officer – and that it is no coincidence this is happening precisely in Srebrenica, from where, he claims, all attacks on Republika Srpska originate. He said that Krdžić, in an intoxicated state, attacked Abbot Luka, who almost daily endures pressure and assaults from those who hate everything Serbian and Orthodox. Kojić called for the security of Abbot Luka and the monastery, as well as all institutions of Srpska, to be urgently raised to the highest possible level. “It is obvious that there is an intention to provoke an incident and an unwanted reaction from the Serb population, whom I urge to remain calm. But I also say that we will personally, if necessary, stand by the monastery and the abbot,” Kojić said. According to him, while the institution of the President of Republika Srpska is under attack, Muslims are deliberately raising tensions in Srebrenica in order to provoke an incident. “I warned that they would attack the institutions of Republika Srpska, but also the Serbian Orthodox Church /SOC/, and here, just a few days later, hooligans have done exactly that,” Kojić said. He pointed out that there has been no public statement from Ćamil Duraković condemning the attack on a clergyman and the SOC because, as Kojić said, Duraković himself had previously targeted Abbot Luka. “He resents that he is not being driven around in a limousine at the expense of Republika Srpska, but I believe he is taking pleasure in the attack on the SOC and Abbot Luka,” Kojić said. The Karno Monastery, dedicated to the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God, is located in the village of Međe, near Srebrenica.
