KUZMANOVIĆ: VOICE OF THE PEOPLE, THAT IS, LAW AND JUSTICE, WILL PREVAIL

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 16 /SRNA/ - Academician Rajko Kuzmanović expressed his confidence that in a referendum, which will be called by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, the voice of the people, that is, law and justice, will prevail, pointing out that the citizens of Srpska have repeatedly demonstrated their support for the institution of the President of Republika Srpska.

Kuzmanović stated that Srpska is entering a phase of defending constitutionality and legality, as well as democracy and its practices, which is why the voice of the people must be respected, noting that it is strongest and most effective when expressed through a referendum or plebiscite. "The citizens of Republika Srpska will, through their vote, confirm that it is a permanent entity, enshrined in the Constitution, proclaimed and sustained by the people. The President of Srpska is merely its collective servant, because politics must be accountable to the citizens, not to uninvited or unelected individuals. Srpska and its citizens have repeatedly demonstrated that they stand behind their President and the institution of the presidency," emphasized Kuzmanović. Kuzmanović, a professor of constitutional law, stated that the referendum exercises a constitutional function and that Republika Srpska is a democratic state that consistently seeks to demonstrate its commitment to defending constitutional principles, as well as the rights and freedoms of its citizens. Following the ruling of the extra-constitutional Court of BiH against Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik, a referendum is expected to be held in Republika Srpska based on a decision by the National Assembly of Srpska.
