KALINIĆ: SRPSKA ENJOYS INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING

PALE, SEPTEMBER 11 /SRNA/ - Thanks to the efforts of the leadership of Republika Srpska, the national question has been internationalized and Srpska today enjoys a level of international understanding that was unimaginable at the time of its creation, former Speaker of the National Assembly Dragan Kalinić told SRNA.

"Today it is clearer than ever that our nation enjoys international understanding and support that was simply inconceivable during its founding years," Kalinić emphasized. He noted that BiH will once again be debated and decided upon at the level of geopolitics, just as it was in 1995. "It remains to be seen which path BiH will take in this overall constellation - whether its supposed guardians will continue with the devastation of Dayton and push further unitarization, or whether its last chance is to return to the original principles of that agreement," said Kalinić, who is also a member of the Creators of Republika Srpska Association. He believes that a possible "formula of salvation" lies in the establishment of a three-entity confederation and the removal of the protectorate-style colonial mission of the OHR, which he described as the key disruptive factor preventing a genuine agreement among the three constituent peoples. "In that case, `Bosnia could remain whole, but in three parts,` and develop in the future through peaceful coexistence of its three peoples and entities," Kalinić stated. He expressed confidence that courageously confronting such a realistic idea - whose outlines were already present in the Cutileiro Plan - would contribute to lasting peace and stability for BiH as a whole.
