NOSOVIĆ: WE WILL DEMAND RELOCATION OF THE PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE AND COURT OF BiH FROM SITE OF CAMP WHERE SERBS WERE TORTURED AND KILLED

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 18 /SRNA/ - The Alliance of Former Camp Inmates of Republika Srpska will launch an initiative to relocate the Prosecutor's Office and Court of BiH from the site of the former notorious Viktor Bubanj camp for Serbs in Sarajevo, said Alliance President Anđelko Nosović.
"To implement this initiative, we will seek the support of Republika Srpska institutions, because it is at this very place that today fatal and shameful verdicts are being handed down against the leadership of Republika Srpska and the Serb people," Nosović told SRNA. He emphasized that establishing the Prosecutor's Office and the Court of BiH at the site of the prison and camp, where women, children, and the elderly were tortured and Serbs were killed, represents a deliberate provocation intended to belittle and humiliate the Serb victims of war and the Serb people. "No one has yet been held accountable for the crimes committed against Serbs in the infamous Viktor Bubanj camp, through which around 5,000 Serbs passed, and where approximately 500 Serbs were killed," Nosović stressed. He recalled that on September 19, 2003, the authorities of the Federation of BiH prevented the Alliance of Former Camp Inmates of Republika Srpska from placing a commemorative plaque at that site in memory of the suffering of Serbs. "The authorities of the FBiH did not allow Serb former camp inmates to place a plaque at any location where Serbs were killed, including Kazani, Dobrovoljačka Street, the Tuzla convoy, Vrace, Zlatište above Sarajevo, and other sites," Nosović said. Some former inmates have written books about the crimes in the Viktor Bubanj camp, in which they explained in detail how they were treated. After the war, the High Representative Paddy Ashdown placed the Court of BiH at the site of these former barracks through an imposed act.
