MINIĆ: CONSENSUS REACHED FOR THE FIRST TIME ON KEY ISSUES
BANJA LUKA, DECEMBER 9 (SRNA) – The Prime Minister of Republika Srpska Savo Minić said after meeting with representatives of veteran groups that, for the first time, consensus has been reached on the most important issues concerning their status, adding that this area will now be regulated systematically.
Minić emphasized that this is one of the most important segments of the population and noted that all representatives of veteran categories are participating in negotiations to improve their status, without the antagonisms that existed in the past. "Their demands regarding shortcomings in the law are reasonable. We have reached a general agreement on the crucial points, and it remains for some minor details to be finalized by February, after which we will submit the new solutions to the parliamentary procedure," Minić told reporters after the meeting. He stressed that he is extremely satisfied with the agreement reached and that his mission as prime minister is to restore the status that all veteran categories deserve. The meeting was attended by representatives of the Republika Srpska Veterans' Organization, the Association of Former Detainees, the Association of Women Victims of War, the Republika Organization of Families of Captured and Fallen Soldiers and Missing Civilians, the Organization of Commanders, the Alliance of Civilian War Victims Associations, the Alliance of War Military Invalids Organizations, the Amputees' Organization Udas, and the Citizens Association Veterans of Republika Srpska.
