EXHIBITION ON SERBIAN CULTURAL HERITAGE IN KOSOVO AND METOHIJA OPENED
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 10 /SRNA/ – An exhibition dedicated to the historical and spiritual significance of Serbian sacred sites in Kosovo and Metohija was opened this evening in Istočno Sarajevo, as part of the “Days of Serbia in Republika Srpska” event, attended by the State Secretary in the Ministry of Culture of Serbia Dejan Antić among others.
"`Serbian Medieval Monuments in Danger` exhibition presents the Serbian cultural heritage that was endangered not only in the 19th and 20th centuries, and remains threatened today," Antić told reporters. He stated that the idea is to highlight the constant endangerment and suffering of the Serb people in Kosovo and Metohija, which has lasted for centuries. "Against Serbian sacred sites in Kosovo and Metohija, a culturicide is being carried out. Against the Serb people, a continuous genocide and criminal policy is being implemented by various Albanian actors, supported by external factors. The goal is to eliminate Serbian cultural heritage, with the next step being the elimination of the Serbian presence in Kosovo and Metohija," Antić emphasized. Speaking about the "Days of Serbia in Republika Srpska" event, Antić stressed that the Serbian spiritual and cultural space is unified and indivisible, and that no administrative lines or political borders can divide it. Head of the Department for the Protection of Cultural Heritage at the Ministry of Education and Culture of Republika Srpska Milica Kotur said that cultural heritage must be continually preserved, protected, and promoted as well. She added that the manifestations "Days of Republika Srpska in Serbia" and "Days of Serbia in Republika Srpska" reflect a shared cultural space that should be nurtured and strengthened, since culture knows no state borders.
