BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 6 /SRNA/ – The Indirect Taxation Authority /ITA/ of BiH reported that revenues from indirect taxes reached a record BAM 12.177 billion last year, which is BAM 633 million more than in the same period in 2024, when BAM 11.541 billion was collected.

The ITA stated that there were no increases in indirect tax rates last year, and that the growth in revenue was driven by both inflationary trends and the authority's own collection activities. "After collecting revenues from indirect taxes, we first refund VAT to taxpayers who have legally earned the right. Last year, we returned BAM 2.202 billion to businesses in this way. The remainder of the collected revenues was distributed to beneficiaries," the ITA specified in a statement. The authority emphasized that net revenues distributed to beneficiaries last year amounted to BAM 9.974 billion, which is BAM 525 million more than in 2024. Regarding last year's financing of institutions, the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ received BAM 5.51 billion, Republika Srpska BAM 3.086 billion, and the Brčko District BAM 310 million. In addition, based on the special road toll for highway construction and the construction and reconstruction of other roads, FBiH received an extra BAM 249 million, Republika Srpska BAM 165 million, and Brčko District BAM 8 million.
