TRIŠIĆ BABIĆ: CHRISTMAS REMINDS US OF IMPORTANCE OF UNITY, FAMILY AND FRIENDSHIP

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 6 /SRNA/ – Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić sent a Christmas greeting to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, metropolitans, bishops, clergy, monastics and the entire Serbian Orthodox people, as well as to all Orthodox believers who celebrate according to the Julian calendar.

BANJA LUKA, JANUARY 6 /SRNA/ – Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić sent a Christmas greeting to His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, metropolitans, bishops, clergy, monastics and the entire Serbian Orthodox people, as well as to all Orthodox believers who celebrate according to the Julian calendar.



“Christmas, as the most joyous Christian holiday, reminds us of the importance of unity, family and friendship, of celebrating the Birth of Christ as a symbol of a new beginning, hope and life, while respecting our centuries-old tradition,” Trišić Babić said in her message. A statement from the Office of the President of the Republic says that Trišić Babić wished for this most joyful holiday to bring health, peace, love and prosperity to all homes, and that the spirit of Christmas strengthen family values, solidarity and humanity. “I greet you with the traditional Orthodox Christian greeting – Peace of God, Christ is born!” the congratulatory message of Acting President of Republika Srpska Ana Trišić Babić reads. The Serbian Orthodox Church /SOC/ tomorrow celebrates Christmas, the most joyful Christian holiday – the day marking the Birth of Jesus Christ. Christmas is celebrated over three days, and Orthodox believers greet each other with “Peace of God – Christ is born,” to which the response is “Indeed He is born.”
