KOJIĆ: SARAJEVO WAR NARRATIVE FADING WHILE HATRED INTENSIFIES

ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, MAY 4 /SRNA/ – Sarajevo is today, unfortunately, the embodiment of Serbophobia, instead of going through a process of confronting the truth over time and acknowledging crimes against Serbs, in this case against young JNA members, SNSD MP in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Milorad Kojić told SRNA.

He assessed that Sarajevo's false wartime narrative is clearly fading, but that, unfortunately, hatred is increasing. "That is Sarajevo, and it is an indicator that hatred toward Serbs is supported by their politicians as well, because there is no condemnation of scandalous messages of hatred," Kojić said, commenting on the desecration of flowers and candles after yesterday's marking of 34 years since the killing of JNA soldiers in Dobrovoljačka Street in Sarajevo. Kojić also pointed to the fact that the football stadium, where Sarajevo fans chanted "Kill the Chetniks!" during yesterday's match, is also a place where calls for lynching are publicly directed at all Serbs living in BiH. He said he expects a reaction from the international community, but that it will likely, as before, be absent, thereby tacitly supporting such behavior. "All of this is a message to us that Republika Srpska has no alternative, and that the fight for it must be continuous," Kojić said. After the marking of 34 years since the killing of JNA soldiers in Dobrovoljačka Street, roses and candles were thrown into a container, erasing every trace of remembrance for the victims. Also, the football match between Banja Luka's Borac and Sarajevo was accompanied by chants from Sarajevo fans of "Kill the Chetniks!" In addition to the chanting, insulting graffiti reading "Chetniks, night awaits you" appeared at the Koševo stadium.
