MINIĆ: I EXPECT UN SECURITY COUNCIL’S POSITION ON SCHMIDT’S ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES TO BE CHANGED

BANJA LUKA, MAY 4 /SRNA/ – Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić says he expects a change in the stance of the UN Security Council on Christian Schmidt’s illegal activities in BiH, as international policy toward BiH is, as he stated, significantly changing.

“I expect this because I pointed out to all the ambassadors I spoke with how harmful it is for BiH when an unappointed foreigner exerts legal pressure on the system, as in the case of Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik,” Minić said at a press conference marking the first 100 days of the Republika Srpska Government. He emphasized that all ambassadors are aware that Schmidt imposed laws that were not adopted in the BiH Parliamentary Assembly, and that they are also familiar with the Court of BiH’s actions. “At the UN Security Council session on May 12, there will certainly be a shift, i.e.willingness to hear the voice of Republika Srpska supported by arguments. At no point have we been against the Dayton Peace Agreement, which we have also confirmed, but that agreement has been violated,” Minić stated. He said he also informed foreign ambassadors that in BiH hundreds of indictments have been filed against Serbs, including for carrying photographs of General Ratko Mladić and making the three-finger salute, for which a prison sentence of up to three years is prescribed, claiming that such prosecution was enabled by Schmidt. The Republika Srpska Government has submitted a report to the UN Security Council warning about illegitimate activities of Christian Schmidt in BiH.
