ŠPIRIĆ: AFTER SCHMIDT, FOREIGN JUDGES OF THE CONSTITUTIONAL COURT OF BiH SHOULD ALSO LEAVE

SARAJEVO, MAY 17 /SRNA/ - Deputy Speaker of the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Nikola Špirić, said that it is necessary to annul the distorted decisions of Christian Schmidt, and that after his withdrawal, it would be beneficial for foreign judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH to do the same.

Špirić told SRNA that those who regret Schmidt’s departure and his gross interference in the functioning of BiH institutions and the laws on which they are based should immediately withdraw from political life, as they are not ready to bear responsibility. “It is necessary to annul the unlawful and unconstitutional decisions and amendments to the Criminal Code imposed by Christian Schmidt and to adopt laws in accordance with the prescribed procedures. It would also be beneficial for BiH if, after Schmidt, the foreign judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH were also to withdraw, which requires a complete sobering up of political Sarajevo,” Špirić said. He assessed that Schmidt’s departure and the limitation of the High Representative’s mandate should mark the beginning of a serious political dialogue within BiH.
