DRAFT LAW ON AMENDMENTS TO THE LAW ON THE COURT ADOPTED IN THE FIRST READING
SARAJEVO, JULY 15 /SRNA/ - The House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH adopted today the Draft Law on Amendments to the Law on the Court of BiH, which envisages the formation of an Appellate Division of the Court of BiH as a second-instance body.
The proposed amendments stipulate that the president and judges of the Appellate Division shall be appointed by the High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council /HJPC/, and not by the Court of BiH, and that judges in the Appellate Division cannot be judges from the Court of BiH and vice versa. This proposal does not define the seat of the Appellate Division of the Court of BiH. This legislative solution was proposed by the members of the Collegium of the House of Peoples Nikola Špirić, Dragan Čović and Kemal Ademović.
