BOKONJIĆ: GOVERNMENT RECOGNIZES IMPORTANCE OF FURTHER DEVELOPMENT OF MEDICAL FACULTY
FOČA, JULY 17 /SRNA/ – The dean of the Medical Faculty in Foča Dejan Bokonjić said that the Republika Srpska Government had recognized the importance of the institution's further development by including the construction of its new building in this year's program of priority public investments. The faculty educates both domestic students and students from 38 countries.
Bokonjić told SRNA that construction of the faculty's new Simulation and Administrative Center would begin in September. The new building, to be located next to the existing faculty premises, will be built on land provided by the town of Foča and jointly financed by the Republika Srpska Government and the faculty. "The project is worth BAM 7 million. The Republika Srpska Government is providing BAM 4.5 million, while the Medical Faculty is contributing BAM 2.5 million. I hope construction will be completed within the next two years. The aim is to establish a simulation center where students will be able to acquire practical skills using mannequins and virtual reality technology," Bokonjić stated. He thanked the Republika Srpska Government for recognizing the Medical Faculty as one of its priorities, as well as the Ministry of Scientific and Technological Development and Higher Education and Minister Draga Mastilović for supporting the investment. The Republika Srpska Government has included the co-financing of the Simulation and Administrative Centre for the Medical Faculty in Foča in this year's Public Investment Program as a project of republic-wide importance. The Medical Faculty in Foča currently has more than 2,000 students enrolled in four programs taught in Serbian, while more than 600 international students attend three English-language programs. The international students come from 38 countries, including India, Morocco, Bangladesh, Germany, Greece, Italy, the United States, Japan and the United Kingdom.
