VUČEVIĆ: COWARDLY ATTACK ON SERB RETURNEES MUST BE MOST SEVERELY PUNISHED

BELGRADE, JULY 19 /SRNA/ - Serbian President’s adviser Miloš Vučević condemned the brutal and cowardly attack on Serb returnees Mika Davidović and her husband Željko Matić in Lušci Palanka near Sanski Most and called for an urgent response from the relevant institutions.

"Physical violence against Serb returnees, people who only want to live peacefully on their ancestral land, is an unacceptable act that requires an immediate and strongest possible response from the relevant authorities," said Vučević, who is also the president of the Serbian Progressive Party /SNS/. Vučević stressed that such incidents must not become an everyday occurrence, nor should they be ignored through silence, adding that the security of Serb returnees must be an absolute priority. "I call on the police and judicial institutions to urgently identify and impose the strictest possible sanctions on the individuals responsible for this brazen attack. Intimidation must not go unpunished," Vučević said in a post on Instagram. Republika Srpska Justice Minister Goran Selak said earlier today that three Bosniaks physically attacked Serb returnees Mika Davidović and her husband Željko Matić in Lušci Palanka near Sanski Most. Selak posted a video of the attack on X and identified the alleged attackers as Suvad Bašić, Muharem Bašić, and Hasan Rekić from Fajtovci near Sanski Most.
