VIŠEGRAD HOSTS LICIDERSKO SRCE FOR THE 15TH TIME
VIŠEGRAD, JULY 20 /SRNA/ - On August 18, Višegrad will host the Licidersko Srce International Children's Folklore Festival, one of the largest events of this type in Southeastern Europe, Ivana Cvetković, the President of the Era Citizens' Association from Užice, told SRNA.
Cvetković emphasized that this year's festival, whose slogan is "Coming of the Adulthood of the Heart," will be held from August 15-19, and it will gather around 1.200 participants aged 10 to 16, from 15 countries. "For years, Licidersko Srce has been considered the largest children's folklore event in this part of Europe. Since its foundation in 2009, around 14,000 children and young people from 45 countries have participated. The special feature is that the program takes place simultaneously in two countries - Serbia and Republika Srpska, i.e. in Užice, Zlatibor and Višegrad," said Cvetković. She stated that ensembles from Georgia, Romania, North Macedonia, Germany, France, Republika Srpska, which will be represented by Cultural Artistic Association /KUD/ Soko-HED from Višegrad, and Serbia, which will be represented by an ensemble from Lapovo, will perform in Višegrad. Cvetković emphasized that a humanitarian action will be organized this year as well, in which funds will be collected for institutions that take care of the health of children and youth through the sale of "Licider hearts" and festival souvenirs. She said that the festival day in Višegrad will begin with the arrival of part of the participants on the ship "Grizzly," which will sail through the Drina canyon, while the rest of the ensembles will arrive by bus. After a tour of Andrićgrad, the Višegrad bridge and the sights of the city, at 5:30 p.m. a formal reception of the ensemble's representatives will be organized at the premises of the head of the Višegrad municipality, at 6:30 p.m. a parade of participants from the bridge to Andrićgrad, and at 7:00 p.m. a big concert at the stadium near Andrićgrad. "The accompanying program of the festival in Visegrad will also be enriched by the Let's Grow Together Caravan of the Ministry of Family Care and Demography of Serbia, with entertainment for the youngest and the distribution of appropriate gifts to the children," said Cvetković.
