OSTOJIĆ: WE ARE OBLIGED TO SEEK JUSTICE FOR WAR CRIMES COMMITTED AGAINST SERBS
BOSANSKI PETROVAC, AUGUST 7 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Minister of Labor, War Veterans' and Disabled Persons' Protection Radan Ostojić said today in Bosanski Petrovac that the Serbian people have an obligation to demand justice for all war crimes committed against Serbs during the past war, as well as for the Croatian bombing of a refugee Serb convoy from Krajina on the Petrovac Road.
Ostojić stressed that a wartime crime against the Serbian people, similar to one committed during the Second World War, was repeated on the Petrovac Road. "The Serbian people suffered ethnic cleansing and the crime of genocide during the past war, for which no one has been held accountable," Ostojić told reporters in the village of Janjile, where he attended the commemoration marking 31 years since the deaths of Serbian civilians in an air attack on a refugee convoy during the Operation Storm pogrom on August 7, 1995. Ostojić said that they had gathered today on the Petrovac Road, the site of a crime against the Serbian people, who were expelled from their ancestral homes in a refugee convoy that was subjected to bombing by Croatian aircraft. He added that it was not enough for Croatian officials that they had expelled the Serbian people from their ancestral homes; by carrying out the bombing, they committed ethnic cleansing, and their intention was for the Serbian people to disappear forever. Ostojić said that Croatia had built its agenda on hatred and the destruction of the Serbian people. Ostojić concluded that this idea has existed for more than 100 years.
