CVIJANOVIĆ: USTASHA CHANTS IN KNIN GLORIFY DARK AND DEADLY PAST

TESLIĆ, AUGUST 8 /SRNA/ – The Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović stated that Ustasha chants heard during Croatia's commemoration in Knin of the 31st anniversary of the "Storm" military operation were absolutely unacceptable because they represented a return to a dark past in which innocent Serbs were killed.

"And only because they were Serbs. We are opposed to any kind of revisionism and Ustasha ideology, as well as the glorification and celebration of everything associated with death. And what is being done is very much marked by death and the great suffering of the Serb people," Cvijanović told reporters in Teslić. Croatia again celebrated the so-called Victory Day in Knin this year, with Ustasha chants heard once more, while Serbs held memorial services for their compatriots killed 31 years ago during the "Storm" operation by the Croatian army and police, in which more than 220,000 Serb civilians were expelled from their homes.
