UNCOVERING ILLEGALITIES IS NOT AN INSULT, AN ATTACK, OR A POLITICAL MESSAGE

SARAJEVO, AUGUST 11 /SRNA/ - The Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, Sanja Vulić, expressed her support for the Prosecutor's Office and the Ministry of Interior /MUP/ of Republika Srpska in uncovering illegalities within the Srebrenica Memorial Center, stating that this is not an insult, an attack, or a political message.

Vulić told SRNA that the inspection by the Republika Srpska MUP is not a provocation of any kind, but rather a legal obligation. "That is the job of the prosecutor's office, the police, and a legal obligation," Vulić stated. She said that there is no selective application of the law and that the same rules must apply to everyone. "The law cannot apply to some, while for others it is considered a provocation. If everything is clean, what is the problem with checking and confirming that? The same rule must apply to everyone. Both for us and for them, and for /the Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center, Emir/ Suljagić and his team," Vulić emphasized. She believes it is particularly hypocritical to feign outrage over the inspection today, and expect the police to protect people and institutions tomorrow. "Let's not forget what happened to /Serbian President/ Aleksandar Vučić in Srebrenica. For years there has been talk about the attack on the President of Serbia, yet accountability for that attack never reached the conclusion it deserves. That is why today no one has the right to say that inspections are a provocation," Vulić said. According to her, if they are prepared to attempt tax evasion through the Memorial Center, then the question of what comes next rightfully arises. "Today it is tax evasion, tomorrow someone could smuggle drugs or weapons. That is exactly why institutions must react to every suspicion of illegality," Vulić said. Vulić emphasized that the Republika Srpska MUP should and must do its job professionally, without fear and without political pressure, and that there are no privileged, protected individuals or institutions above the law. "Whoever respects the law has nothing to fear. Full support to the MUP to do its job. Without selective justice, without double standards, and without pressure from Sarajevo," Vulić stated.
