MINIĆ: POSITIVE ECONOMIC INDICATORS LEAD TO BETTER CONDITIONS IN SOCIETY

BANJA LUKA, AUGUST 11 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska Prime Minister Savo Minić said in Banja Luka today that the improvement in Srpska’s credit rating was highly significant and that he was satisfied with the current economic indicators, which are leading to better conditions in society.

Minić said that one of the effects of this was the lifting of sanctions. "We have a GDP that will reach BAM 20 billion, and we have increased revenues without raising taxes, which means that we have greater economic activity," Minić told reporters. He said that the Republika Srpska Banking Agency had confirmed that individuals’ deposits in banks amounted to around BAM 6 billion. "Inflation has declined. Along with an investment cycle worth more than BAM 7.4 billion, this will lead to improved conditions in society as well," Minić said. Minić said that Republika Srpska has 1,390 more people employed than last year. The Republika Srpska Prime Minister reiterated that Srpska can be satisfied with these indicators, given the wars and the difficult global situation regarding energy supplies. In its latest report following a regular annual assessment, international credit rating agency Standard & Poor’s confirmed Republika Srpska’s credit rating at B, while improving its outlook from "negative" to "stable."
