VUČIĆ: EUROPEAN COMMISSION QUICKLY REACTED TO PROTECT ITS ALBANIAN FLUNKEYS

BELGRADE, AUGUST 11 /SRNA/ – Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vučić has stated today that the European Commission quickly reacted to his statement about a possible change in the course of the Ibar River in order to protect its Albanian flunkeys, while there have been no reactions to the daily arrests and mistreatment of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija.

Commenting on Commission spokesperson’s statement that remarks about changing the river’s course do not contribute to the normalization of Belgrade - Priština relations and that this can only be achieved through dialogue, Vučić pointed out that the signed agreement on the establishment of the Community of Serb Municipalities has still not been implemented and that the EU has failed to react to the daily mistreatment and persecution of Serbs and the demolition of Serb homes. He told the press in Arilje that a possible change in the course of the Ibar, due to the need for water in central Serbia, is still a very long way off. Vučić also said that Serbia’s Armed Forces’ General Staff Chief Milan Mojsilović had spoken with KFOR Commander Özkan Ulutaş, assessing the conversation as the worst so far. Vučić said yesterday that Mojsilović had spoken with Ulutaş because the mission wanted to reopen the main bridge over the Ibar River in Mitrovica to traffic. KFOR confirmed yesterday that it had begun reducing its permanent presence on the main bridge over the Ibar, which connects South and North Mitrovica, and announced that it had begun integrating personnel of the so-called Kosovo Police into KFOR’s security structure at the Serb monastery of Visoki Dečani.
