ĐOKOVIĆ LOSES IN US OPEN FIRST ROUND
NEW YORK, AUGUST 31 /SRNA/ - Serbian tennis player Novak Đoković was knocked out of the US Open after losing to Argentine player Mariano Navone 3-2 in the first round.
The match lasted four hours and 36 minutes, making it the longest first-round match Đoković has played at any Grand Slam, the Associated Press reported. The match was also marked by Đoković's physical problems. He vomited and struggled with cramping and lower-back pain. Đoković had never previously lost in the first round of the US Open. He won the US Open in 2011, 2015, 2018, and 2023, and had recorded 95 wins in 110 matches at the final Grand Slam tournament of the season.
