GENOCIDE AGAINST SERBS IN NDH SHOULD BE CONDEMNED AND GIVEN SPECIFIC NAME

BELGRADE, AUGUST 1 /SRNA/ - The Association of Krajina People has collected 30,000 signatures and will ask the Assembly of Serbia to adopt a resolution condemning the genocide against Serbs in the Independent State of Croatia /NDH/ and finally giving it a specific name, the head of the Association Mile Bosnić told SRNA.

Bosnić believes that it is necessary to pass a resolution that will exclusively deal with the genocide against Serbs because the world public has condemned the genocide against Jews - the Holocaust, as well as the genocide against the Roma - Parajmos. "Only the Serbs do not have a name for the terrible genocide committed against them in the NDH, and only the genocide against the Serbs was not condemned. Our assembly and our state had to pass a resolution on genocide to determine what that genocide is specifically called, whether it is perhaps slaughter or extermination, we don't know that," said Bosnić. He stated that the initiative to pass the resolution will be launched in the fall or in the spring at the latest, and if it is not forwarded to the parliamentary procedure, the Association is seriously considering a referendum on this issue. "We owe it to those who perished in the NDH," said Bosnić, who has been collecting testimonies of survivors for years and will soon publish a book about it. He pointed out that the concentration camps for children in NDH are the most terrible thing that happened in the history of mankind, and that for him, the testimonies of the surviving children of those camps such as Pajo Vukmir, who saw with his own eyes how the nuns were killing the Serb children and who, although has entered the ninth decade of life, has the strength to testify to that. "When the partisans liberated Jasenovac, Vukmir and his brother did not want to leave without the third brother, so the Ustasha picked them up again, which is when they saw the suffering. I also possess the testimony of a man who saw those Ustasha experiments on people in Jasenovac, the torture as much as they could endure without water and food. Whenever he sees the neck of a girl, he has a vision of his sister's neck being slit," said Bosnić. He believes that the responsible institutions in Serbia should seriously deal with the making the list and marking of Serb execution sites in Croatia and in NDH territory in general, because, as he says, every pit and karst sinkhole is a little Jasenovac, and for many of them, such as the village of Rakovica on Kordun, where the Ustashas lined up 40 severed heads of Serb children - no one heard. "In the Archives of Yugoslavia, I found the statement of a woman, a witness from 1945, given to the State Commission. She said that after the execution of hundreds of civilians, the Ustasha called on the parents to identify and take over their children, but that the morning after the execution, the mothers found only the severed heads of the children. That site has never been marked. It is not on the map of the Genocide Victims Museum," said Bosnić. He stated that Rakovica is only five kilometers from Mašvina, where the Ustashas put 10 slaughtered Serb boys on the top pf 10 slaughtered Serb girls, thus forming a circle of dead children, and that it is obvious that the same criminal mind is behind both crimes. Bosnić believes that Serbs' inertness contributes to the fact that even today the Croats are removing the traces of Ustasha inhumanity from the Second World War without any consequences. "Last year, young speleologists from Slunj carried out an action to clean the cave where Serbs were killed. Serb bones were taken out of that garbage and thrown into the garbage again. This is very serious and requires a serious response from the state of Serbia," said Bosnić.
