ELECTIONS PROGRESSING TRANSPARENTLY, OBSERVERS FROM SRPSKA IN MAIN ELECTORAL MONITORING CENTRE
NIZHNY NOVGOROD, MARCH 15 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska National Assembly deputy, Srđan Mazalica, who stays in the Russian Federation as an observer during the presidential elections, told SRNA that the election process is transparent with the presence of international observers and that local and international public share great deal of interest in this event.
Miroslav Vujičić, SNSD deputy in the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH, is staying with Mazalica in the Russian Federation as an observer, with approximately other 1,000 international observers that monitor the presidential elections. "Here in the Nizhny Novgorod Region, we are monitoring the elections at the Main Electoral Monitoring Centre. This is just one of the areas where international observers are present. There are observers from Europe, Asia, South America and Africa. Our impression is that the elections are progressing transparently, while the elections themselves and the voting mannners have been modernized in relation to European standards," Mazalica told SRNA. Video surveillance is available at the Electoral Process Monitoring Centre, and Mazalica believes that the Russian Federation shows in this way how important it is to maintain trust in the electoral system. The candidacies of four candidates were certified in these elections. Mazalica points out that the current president and independent candidate Vladimir Putin has the undisputed support of the citizens, as all polls show. "All the candidates have a similar attitude when it comes to the conflict in Ukraine and we should not expect any turn in Russian policy," said Mazalica. Voting started today in Russia and will last until March 17. The Central Electoral Commission registered four presidential candidates Nikolai Kharitonov /Communist Party/, Leonid Slutsky /LDPR/, Vladislav Davankov /New People/ and Vladimir Putin independent candidate.
