ADŽIĆ: WASTEWATER TREATMENT PROJECT IS VERY IMPORTANT FOR GRADIŠKA

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 7 /SRNA/ - The Mayor of Gradiška, Zoran Adžić, expressed his satisfaction that the Government of Hungary will take over the project "Collection and purification of waste water in Gradiška", worth about BAM 32 million, which is extremely important for the citizens, but also for the economic development of this city.

Adžić stated that everything is ready for implementation and that there are project documentation and building permits. He reminded that at the recent meeting of the delegations of Hungary and Republika Srpska in Banja Luka, it was agreed that the waste water project in Gradiška, together with the construction projects of the wind power plant "Hrgud" and the solar park "Trebinje", will be implemented within the framework of the agreement between the governments of the two countries. "Gradiška is very grateful to the Government of Republika Srpska, President Milorad Dodik, and Prime Minister of Hungary Viktor Orban for their support, especially because this project was started with the German Development Bank /KFV/, in cooperation with the Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, but it was suspended for political reasons well known to us," Adžić said. Adžić pointed out that it is about one of the best projects being implemented in BiH, and that he is satisfied that there is an opportunity for the governments of Hungary and Srpska to take it over. He explained that it is about the reconstruction and extension of the existing primary sewage network, the construction of the main city wastewater treatment plant, as well as the construction of about 30 kilometers of secondary sewage network. "When we complete that project, we will be one of the few cities and local communities, not only in Republika Srpska, but also in the region, which will have the collection and treatment of waste water solved in the area of the entire city and suburbs," said Adžić. Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán led a delegation of the Government of Hungary and businessmen during the visit to Republika Srpska. Orban received from the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, the highest decoration of Republika Srpska - the Order of Republika Srpska on a necklace, which was awarded to him on the occasion of Republic Day - January 9. As part of this visit, the Prime Minister of Srpska, Radovan Višković, and the Minister of Economic Development of Hungary, Marton Nagy, agreed to cooperate on the implementation and financing of three projects worth EUR 140 million. It is about waste water purification projects in Gradiška, the construction of the wind power plant "Hrgud" and the solar park "Trebinje".
