VRANJEŠ: BY ATTACKING AMBASSADOR OF ISRAEL, KONAKOVIĆ SHIFTING FOCUS FROM ACCUSATIONS OF COLLABORATION WITH DRUG CARTEL

BELGRADE, APRIL 30 /SRNA/ - The Ambassador of BiH to Serbia Aleksandar Vranješ described as scandalous the attack by Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković on the Ambassador of Israel to Serbia Yahel Vilan.
He announced that he would send a letter to the Israeli ambassador today, clarifying that Konaković does not speak on behalf of BiH, adding that Republika Srpska, led by President Milorad Dodik, strongly condemns the insulting remarks against the ambassador and the belittling of the Holocaust. Ambassador Vranješ said that he would remind the Israeli ambassador that the Constitution of BiH does not give any right to any Minister of Foreign Affairs in the Council of Ministers to conduct foreign policy outside the established decisions of the BiH Presidency. He added that Konaković's scandalous messages directed at him should be understood solely as his frustration and not the stance of BiH. "I will explain to my colleague Yahel that Minister Konaković is facing accusations of alleged collaboration with a drug cartel and that he does not hesitate to use any topic to divert attention from this very serious problem for him. He also attacked Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, calculating that Serbophobia is always a sure method to shift the focus of the Bosniak public," emphasized Vranješ. He emphasized that for this purpose, Konaković is also using the potential resolution on Srebrenica, trying in every possible way to make these serious accusations against him forgotten. After Ambassador Vilan's statement that Israel has never accepted calling the crimes in Srebrenica the genocide, Konaković made a series of insults against him, saying, among other things, that he is "a disgrace to diplomacy and humanity."
