ĐOKIĆ: ALL-SERBIAN ASSEMBLY WILL BE MANIFESTATION OF SERBIAN UNITY, HARMONY AND STRENGTH
BELGRADE, JUNE 5 /SRNA/ - The Republika Srpska Minister of Energy and Mining Petar Đokić said today in Belgrade that the upcoming All-Serbian Assembly is not a threat to anyone but merely a manifestation of Serbian unity, harmony, and strength, which should be understood in this way by everyone in the surrounding area.
Đokić pointed out that the Assembly, which will be held on Saturday, June 8, in Belgrade, aims to establish a new level of mutual communication between Serbia and Republika Srpska and to discuss all important issues of interest to the Serbian people, as well as to other peoples living in Serbia and Srpska. "We just want this Assembly to be understood as our intention to maintain peace in the region, to establish stability, and to leave the burdens of the past behind. At this moment, it is our responsibility to find the best solutions to live normally, stably, and peacefully," Đokić said ahead of the "Tesla Innovation Days" conference at the Radisson Hotel in Belgrade. He emphasized that all the peoples of the Balkans, as well as the peoples living in Srpska and Serbia, can develop normally and without hindrance, and that the Assembly is not a threat to anyone. Đokić pointed out that one should keep in mind that the Serbian people, Republika Srpska and Serbia are subjected to exceptionally strong international pressures, which are very unprincipled and have lasted for decades. "Due to these unprincipled pressures, we have faced numerous difficulties that we had to overcome in order to maintain social life and the overall level of growth and development," Đokić said. He emphasized that both Srpska and Serbia are aware that they would not have succeeded in this had they not been together. "With this Assembly, we affirm our firm commitment to staying together, to sharing both difficult and joyous moments in the future, and to having more coordination and more joint activities that will lead to the prosperity of the Serbian people as a whole," Đokić said. He reminded that Republika Srpska has had special relations with Serbia since its creation, which were further established by the Dayton Agreement and confirmed through the Agreement on Special and Parallel Ties, which has been implemented for decades. "This Assembly is an enhancement of all our previous activities regarding cooperation between Serbia and Republika Srpska. The Assembly creates a new dimension of our joint relations and our shared future," Đokić said.
