PAN-SERBIAN ASSEMBLY - STRONG MESSAGE OF THE NATIONAL UNITY OF SERBS

SARAJEVO, JUNE 7 /SRNA/ - BiH Ambassador to China Siniša Berjan told SRNA that the Pan-Serbian Assembly will send a strong message of the national unity of the Serb people and their readiness for dialogue and cooperation with other peoples, despite all the pressures.

Berjan said that it is the right and obligation of the Serb people to cherish their cultural heritage, alphabet, tradition, customs, to celebrate together the dates important for the Serb people, to discuss key national issues, make joint decisions and strive for the same goals to strengthen mutual connection and cooperation. He stated that the Assembly is a confirmation of the unity of the entire Serb people, wherever they live, not directed against others. "Unfortunately, the resolution on Srebrenica, which was not supported by the majority of countries, only brings deeper divisions into the already divided BiH," said Berjan. He assessed that the adoption of the resolution was forced and that, practically, the minority outvoted the majority. "I will remind you that the representatives of 109 countries, which together have the majority of the world's population, about 5.2 billion inhabitants, did not support this resolution, as opposed to 84 countries that supported it," said Berjan. He said that the resolution on Srebrenica divided the Balkans, the Islamic world, the African and American continents - the entire world was divided. "Today, we are all together witnessing numerous global challenges that are reflected in this space as well. Right now, more than ever, we must strengthen fraternal ties, because Serbs are one people, no matter where they are," said Berjan.
