RUSSIAN ARTIST NIKOLAI BURLYAYEV SPECIAL GUEST OF REUBLIKA SRPSKA

BELGRADE, OCTOBER 26 /SRNA/ - One of the greatest Russian artists, actor, director and writer Nikolai Buryayev was today a special guest of Republika Srpska stand at the 67th International Belgrade Book Fair.

Burlyayev is responsible for the promotion of Serb film and the cinematography of Republika Srpska in the world, and in the nineties of the last century, he fought for the truth about the struggle and suffering of the Serb people to go to the world. He said that he is happy that Republika Srpska is so well received in Serbia, as well as because it has quality literature. Burlyayev pointed out that the first time Republika Srpska was officially mentioned abroad was at the Golden Knight festival in 1992, where the name Republika Srpska was mentioned in the festival catalog and a selection of films from Srpska was shown. He stated that the Golden Knight festival has been representing Serb culture, cinematography, literature and theater in Russia for 33 years and that he is personally very well acquainted with Serb culture and art. Nikolai Burlyayev is the winner of awards at the prestigious film festivals in Berlin, Cannes and Venice, and he is the founder of the All-Slovene Art Forum "Golden Knight", which he has been heading for 32 years.
