PUCAR: NO OBJECTIVE REASON TO SEPARATE PROCEEDINGS
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, DECEMBER 9 /SRNA/ - Lawyer Miljkan Pucar, the defense attorney of the acting director of the "Official Gazette of Srpska" Miloš Lukić, pointed out today that there is no objective reason to separate the proceedings in the case against his client and the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina for "non-compliance with the decisions" of Christian Schmidt.
"We are convinced that Judge Sena Uzunović will not separate the proceedings, because a month or two means nothing for the Court, unless you have some kind of pressure that you have to finish it yesterday," Pucar stressed. He clarified that the possibility of separating the proceedings exists in the case where there is a statute of limitations, which is not the case in this court case. Pucar stated that he is convinced that Uzunović will wait to see what period of time is needed for the recovery of the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik from today's operation in Belgrade, after which she can make her decision. "And to expect something quickly, in seven or ten days, I don't think is realistic," Pucar said at a press conference in Istočno Sarajevo. He also asked why the judge would write two verdicts, stating that writing a judgment is actually writing a small scientific paper. "A verdict like this, where a lot of objections have been implemented and exhausted, where the evidence is not only material, but also the witnesses who were heard are very important for the judiciary of BiH, a serious question arises - which judge would write two verdicts?" Pucar said and added that this would not be done by any judge who works independently and makes own decisions . According to him, no appeal is allowed against the decision on separation or non-separation of proceedings according to the Criminal Procedure Law. At the status conference that was held today in the case before the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the acting director of "Official Gazette" Miloš Lukić, it was stated that the prerequisites for a hearing to be held today due to Dodik's hospitalization in a hospital in Belgrade were not met. At the status conference, it was pointed out that the parties in the proceedings will be informed about the continuation of the trial.
