TPP ON GRID AGAIN, SITE WITH 48 MILLION TONS OF COAL SOON OWNED BY SRBSKA

UGLJEVIK, JANUARY 23 /SRNA/ - Director of the Ugljevik Mine and Thermal Power Plant, Diko Cvijetinović, told SRNA that the Ugljevik Thermal Power Plant is back online and pointed out that with the agreement reached, the Government of Republika Srpska will buy the company Komsar Energy and the coal deposit Istok Dva with an estimated reserve of 48 million tons of coal is to be returned to the ownership of Srpska and made available to this plant.

"These are the great merits of the President of the Republic Milorad Dodik, who had understanding for Ugljevik and for Mine and TPP, the work of which is of great importance for the company's 1,950 employees, but also for the city and the wider region," said Cvijetinović and added that they had been informed about the agreement last night. He says that the Thermal Power Plant in Ugljevik is online again from 1:00 a.m. tonight, after a fourteen-day shutdown during protests demanding the return of the concession of the Istok Dva field. "It is estimated that Ugljevik Istok dva has reserves of 48 million tons of coal, and the Thermal Power Plant consumes an average of 2.1 million tons per year," stated Cvijetinović and added that certain amounts of coal still exist in the current deposit owned by RiTE. Ugljevik Mine and Thermal Power Plant produces about 30 percent of the total electricity in Republika Srpska.
