CVIJANOVIĆ: DESECRATION OF MEMORIAL PLAQUE IN JELAČIĆI CLEAR MESSAGE TO SERBS THAT THEY ARE NOT WELCOME THERE, ALIVE OR DEAD

EAST SARAJEVO, FEBRUARY 9 /SRNA/ - In addition to the Serbs, the very traces of their presence in the area are obviously bothering the Federation of BiH, Serb member and chairwoman of the BiH Presidency, Željka Cvijanović, told SRNA.

Reacting to the re-desecration of the memorial plaque in Jelačići near Kladanj erected in memory of the Serb civilians and soldiers of that village who were killed by Muslims on January 14, 1994, on Little Christmas, Cvijanović stated that this is not the first time that the memorial plaque dedicated to the killed Serb soldiers and civilians during the last war has been desecrated. "The last time it was desecrated was last month. The perpetrators were not found and sanctioned either then or before. It is a shame for the competent institutions for motivating such incidents by their inaction, and those who constantly spread intolerance and hatred towards the Serb people in the Sarajevo media are also responsible," emphasized Cvijanović. She pointed out that this is a clear message to the Serbs that neither the living nor the dead are welcome in the area where they lived for centuries.
