KARAN: TENSE POLITICAL SITUATION CAUSED BY SCHMIDT'S DECISIONS

BANJA LUKA, MARCH 19 /SRNA/ - The Minister of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska Siniša Karan told SRNA that the current tense political situation is solely caused by the decisions of the unelected foreigner Christian Schmidt and he said that the MOI of Srpska, based on the Constitution and laws of Srpska, will continue to be the guarantor of the security of the Republic, its constitutional order and all citizens.

"We believe that the entire political situation in Republika Srpska was actually caused by the order of Christian Schmidt with the aim of destabilizing Republika Srpska, attacking its institutions and top officials, to create the basis for tomorrow to pass a law without hindrance and transfer the property of Republika Srpska to the level of Bosnia and Herzegovina," Karan stated. He reminded that Schmidt was not appointed in accordance with Annex Ten and that only the ambassadors of certain countries, members of the anti-Dayton institution of the Steering Committee of the Peace Implementation Council, appointed him on May 27, 2021. "Christian Schmidt's decisions actually reflect on the very security of the citizens of Republika Srpska and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in that sense they are unacceptable, politically motivated. All the actions that are being conducted now are political and we are talking about malicious decisions that create a feeling of insecurity among citizens," said Karan. He added that various activities, announcements, statements, comments and other forms of public speaking by numerous international factors and political subjects in Bosnia and Herzegovina in connection with the aforementioned situation greatly contributed to this feeling of insecurity. "MOI Srpska is and will be the guarantor of the security of Republika Srpska and reflects the favorable state of security. The Police of Srpska devotes special attention to identifying conditions and circumstances that could cause and facilitate the action of potential sources of threats to security," said Karan. Apart from all the measures being taken, Karan stated that the possibility of the appearance of certain individual forms of violation of security, public order and peace, which would be initiated and encouraged by the current socio-political situation caused by Schmidt, cannot be ruled out. "However, the security system of Republika Srpska is organizationally, staffingly and functionally capable to respond adequately and in a timely manner to all possible forms of threats to security in the sense of processing them and preventing further illegal activities, which would prevent a large-scale violation of security, public order and peace," Karan emphasized. He concluded that the MOI of Srpska expresses the full unity of its actions according to the laws passed by the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and the decisions of the Government of Srpska which are aimed at protecting the constitutional order of the Republic.
