KARAN: VISIT FORBIDDEN, RESPECT ALLOWED - SRPSKA DOES NOT ACCEPT HUMILIATION
BANJA LUKA, APRIL 5 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska's decision to declare German Minister Anna Lührmann a persona non grata on its territory is neither an outburst nor a provocation, but a message that we will no longer live in a world in which colonial administrators are welcomed as diplomats, and humiliations are proclaimed as European values, Republika Srpska Minister of Internal Affairs Siniša Karan told SRNA.
"Lührmann's arrival in Banja Luka was a carefully planned political maneuver. Her task was not to bring a message of reconciliation, cooperation or respect. On the contrary - she was there to demonstrate that Germany `has nothing against Republika Srpska,` but to settle the score exclusively with Milorad Dodik. And there a key mistake was made. Because Milorad Dodik is not an ordinary individual – he is the President of Republika Srpska. And an attack on him, especially when it comes from abroad, is nothing more than an attack on the institution, on the will of the people and on the constitutional order of Srpska. That is precisely why it was important to react, in a principled and decisive manner. That is why it is not about a ban on visits, but about a ban on humiliation," Minister Karan emphasized. He pointed out that Germany has decided to conduct its diplomatic offensive against Republika Srpska through sanctions, resolutions and a duplicitous attitude towards the high representative that does not exist in international law, but exists in the political game of the great powers. Karan recalled that their colonial governor Christian Schmidt is changing constitutions here, imposing laws, threatening, and arresting, while Berlin watches all this with a nod. "And then they send a minister to show that they are, after all, `open to conversation`. Not with Republika Srpska - but with those who would like to present Republika Srpska as themselves. Completely submissive, spineless, without awareness. But that no longer works in Banja Luka," Karan said. He emphasized that Republika Srpska has been waging a political struggle for its survival and status for some time with an incredible dose of courage, but also calculated moderation. "The decision to declare Lührmann undesirable was a test of that consistency. A test that Republika Srpska passed. And while the institutions ban her, the opposition welcomes her. A representative of German politics who supported the resolution that attempts to label the Serb people as genocide, which supports an unelected high representative and the sanctioning of elected representatives of the people, came to meet with those who swear by democracy day and night, and pray to embassies," Minister Karan emphasized. He said the question arises: "Where is the bottom of servility? Is it possible that nothing is sacred to you except your chair, and even at a time when the Republika Srpska is fighting for institutional survival - you are siding with those who are challenging that survival?" "This is no longer the opposition. This is political complicity in the humiliation of the people. And while they are taking pictures in hotels waiting for someone else to install them in power, the institutions of Republika Srpska are showing that they know, dare and want to defend their dignity. That's why this ban is not just a political message - it's an act of self-respect. And after decades of humiliation, the region recognizes it as a new currency of dignity," Karan stated in a statement for SRNA. "At this moment, when a decisive battle is being fought between the will of the people and the will of the centers of power, Republika Srpska has clearly shown whose side it is on. And that is not forgotten," Minister Karan concluded.
