KARAN: INTERVENTION ON THE CONSTITUTION OF BiH REGARDING THE STATUS OF DISTRICTS AUTOMATICALLY MEANS THE TERMINATION OF THE VALIDITY OF THE DAYTON CON

BANJA LUKA, APRIL 26 /SRNA/ - Up until now, high representatives intervened in the constitutions of the entities, tricking us into harmonizing them with the BiH Constitution, but if someone dares to intervene regarding the status of Brčko District, the Constitution automatically formally ceases to be valid and Republika Srpska becomes an independent state as it was before Dayton, said the professor of constitutional law and Siniša Karan.

In a statement for SRNA, Karan, who is also Srpska arbitrator in the arbitration of the disputed part of the border in the Brčko area, clarified that amendment one of the Constitution of BiH is the only formal change to the Constitution of BiH, which was made in 2009, and represents the direct introduction of the Final Decision on Arbitration into the Constitution of BiH, so that any encroachment on the issue of the District is the most direct demolition of the Constitution of BiH itself. He reminded that during all these years of implementation of the arbitration decision, Republika Srpska fulfilled all its obligations. "Actualizing the Brčko District issue is the last means of threatening Srpska, because they no longer know what to do after the geopolitical situation in the world has changed and after they have seen that there is no more tutelage, but that only dialogue is a pledge for the future of Dayton BiH," Karan told SRNA, reacting to the SDA's conclusions in which they demand that, as they say, "the Brčko District belongs to the FBiH".
