BEĆIROVIĆ'S SURREAL ACCUSATIONS AGAINST VUČIĆ

BELGRADE, APRIL 27 /SRNA/ - Serbia’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Marko Đurić, said that Serbia has the right and obligation, as a signatory and guarantor of the Dayton Peace Agreement, to express concern when the rights of the Serbian people in BiH are threatened and when the balance established by the Agreement is disrupted.

Đurić emphasized that the accusations made by the Bosniak member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović, against the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, about allegedly interfering in the internal affairs of BiH, sound surreal, especially when Vučić said that Republika Srpska was attacked, says a press release from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Serbia. “Our special parallel ties with Republika Srpska, recognized within the framework of the Dayton Agreement, further oblige us to react when the stability, peace, and legitimate rights of the Serbian people are called into question,” said Đurić. He emphasized that President Vučić’s statements are not an interference in the internal affairs of BiH, but rather a reflection of legitimate concern for the protection of the Dayton order and the rights of the peoples who live within it. “While President Vučić, even in the face of the obvious and widespread endangerment of Republika Srpska, did not point fingers at anyone, we know very well which circles the decades-long campaign against its very existence is coming from,” said Đurić in the press release. He pointed out that numerous officials from the Federation of BiH, including Bećirović, openly challenge the Dayton-guaranteed position of Republika Srpska and the legitimacy of its democratically elected representatives on a daily basis, which seriously undermines trust and stability. Đurić reminded that Bećirović recently held an emergency press conference where he directly intervened in Serbia’s internal political affairs, repeating slogans and phrases of opposition groups in Serbia literally 50 times. "Everyone knows this, just as we all know and remember that it's hard to count the offensive statements by Zukan Helez, Ramo Isak, and others who regularly comment on Serbia and its representatives," emphasized Đurić. He said that Serbia would continue to consistently protect the principles of the Dayton Agreement, supporting peace, stability, and dialogue, with full respect for the rights of all three constituent nations. In his address today in Donja Gradina, where the Day of Remembrance for the Victims of the Genocide against Serbs, Jews, and Roma in the Independent State of Croatia from 1941 to 1945, as well as the 80th anniversary of the breakout of inmates from the Jasenovac concentration camp, was marked, Vučić said that Serbia had been attacked, both from the outside and from within, and that the Republika Srpska had also been attacked. In response to these words, Bećirović said that the president of Serbia is "completely unauthorized to speak about any attack on BiH or any of its parts."
