BANJA LUKA, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ - Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik stated today in Banja Luka that the commemoration of 33 years since the crimes against 3,267 Serbs in Central Podrinje and Birač is of the utmost importance for Republika Srpska, given that this area was left devastated by crimes committed by Muslims against Serbs.

Dodik pointed out that a large number of civilians were killed and that Muslims entered Serbian villages and committed crimes continuously. He announced that the commemoration on July 5 in Bratunac will be attended by His Holiness Serbian Patriarch Porfirije, the highest leadership of Serbia and Republika Srpska, as well as the people. Dodik pointed out that the international community has shown no understanding for Serbian victims, as it has never given importance to commemorating the anniversary of this crime, unlike what it does in Potočari. "We want to commemorate this event with dignity, as we have done so far. Everything is prepared and the necessary conditions have been secured," said Dodik after a reception for the members of the Organizing Committee of an event marking 33 years since the suffering of Serbs in Central Podrinje and Birač. The 33rd anniversary of the crimes against 3,267 Serbs in Central Podrinje will be commemorated on July 5 in Bratunac.
