ŠULIĆ: FEJS FESTIVAL IS BRAND THAT WILL MAKE JAHORINA RECOGNIZABLE

JAHORINA, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ – The Minister of Trade and Tourism of Republika Srpska, Denis Šulić, stated at the opening of the summer tourist season on Jahorina that this is an important year for tourism, and thanked hoteliers, the local community, and the city’s tourist organization for their persistence in developing the “Fejs” festival as a brand that will make Jahorina, Ravna Planina, and this part of Republika Srpska recognizable in the future.
He expressed gratitude to the employees of the Olympic Center “Jahorina” for their efforts in preparing all summer attractions. “We expect a large number of visitors. This year, during the festival, the Government of Republika Srpska has enabled the use of tourist vouchers,” Šulić said at a press conference on Jahorina. He added that this year there will also be subsidies for agencies focused on bringing in foreign tourists. “The Government of Republika Srpska and the Ministry, along with President Milorad Dodik, are always oriented toward prosperity, progress, and development—both economically and in all other segments of our society. We see this as an investment in the future, to demonstrate through the ‘Fejs’ festival that we can work together, that the Olympic Center, the City of East Sarajevo, hoteliers, and the tourist organization can be partners and collaborators in such projects,” Šulić added. The Mayor of East Sarajevo, Ljubiša Ćosić, said that the beginning of the summer tourist season on Jahorina is very important for the city and its municipalities, for everyone involved in tourism, as well as for those who want to spend their vacation in the mountains. “First and foremost, thanks go to the people from the private sector. These are the people who invest their capital here and who have believed for years that Jahorina is a valuable destination, both in winter and summer. They are the ones taking the greatest risk,” Ćosić emphasized. He noted that the East Sarajevo Tourist Organization recognized the “Fejs” festival last year and offered its support. “This is becoming a recognizable festival. A recognizable start to the summer tourist season. The festival’s offerings are not only for the citizens of East Sarajevo but also for Sarajevo and the wider region,” Ćosić stressed. He added that tourism knows no borders and that East Sarajevo has great potential. “A friend of mine recently told me that there’s no real difference between Oktoberfest in Munich and the Lamb Festival /Jagnjijada/ in Vučija Luka. We have our own traditions and way of life, and we are promoting that here on Jahorina and at the Lamb Festival. Jahorina is a jewel of East Sarajevo and the entire Republika Srpska, and we must give it the finest presentation,” said Ćosić. The “Fejs” festival is being held for the second year in a row and will last until Sunday, June 29, on Jahorina and Ravna Planina. It is organized by the Jahorina Hoteliers’ Association, the Olympic Center “Jahorina,” the Ski Center “Ravna Planina,” and supported by the Tourist Organization.
