PETROVIĆ: SERB MEMBER OF THE PRESIDENCY TO DEMAND DISMISSAL OF AMBASSADOR BAŠIĆ FOR UNAUTHORIZED CONDUCT

EAST SARAJEVO, JUNE 26 /SRNA/ – Haris Bašić, BiH Ambassador to the Council of Europe, has once again demonstrated the privatization of BiH's foreign policy by political Sarajevo and the Bosniak cadre in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), by unilaterally making decisions on behalf of BiH without authorization, Dušan Petrović, Chief of Staff to the Serb Member and Chairperson of the BiH Presidency, said in a statement to SRNA.
Petrović emphasized that the Presidency, as the only institution competent to create and conduct BiH’s foreign policy, was not only not consulted, but was also not officially informed by the MFA as required by procedure. "At the next session, the Serb member of the Presidency will request the dismissal of Haris Bašić, BiH Ambassador to the Council of Europe, who illegally and without authorization assumed the right to independently decide on behalf of BiH," Petrović announced. As for Borenović and his reaction, Petrović said it is clear that he is mistakenly and maliciously assigning blame to the Serb member of the Presidency. "He would do better to address his political partners from Sarajevo's 'Troika,' from which Ambassador Bašić originates, or, instead of badmouthing Republika Srpska and its officials to foreigners, he could use that opportunity to point out the harmful consequences of the Bosniak cadre's privatization of BiH foreign policy. After all, Borenović should know a thing or two about this, since during the time of his then-party leader and Serb member of the Presidency, Mladen Ivanić, Bosniaks in the diplomatic-consular network were opening his mail or not delivering it at all, which were a diplomatic scandals," Petrović reminded. He added that the same practices continue today, which is why that network must be dismantled, rather than looking for culprits where there are none.
