VULIĆ: IF ANYONE IS CONTROLLING JUDICIARY IN BiH, IT'S KONAKOVIĆ AND HIS MENTOR SCHMIDT

SARAJEVO, JULY 10 /SRNA/ - If anyone is controlling the judiciary in BiH, it's Foreign Minister in the Council of Ministers Elmedin Konaković and his mentor Christian Schmidt, the Head of the SNSD Caucus in the House of Representatives of the BiH Parliamentary Assembly Sanja Vulić told SRNA.

"The fact that you are closely tied to the judiciary is proven by the `Dino and Tito` case, something everyone in BiH knows about, but which has never been prosecuted. Why? Because you are obviously protected. Untouchable. At least for now," Vulić stated, in response to Konaković's claim that Republika Srpska President Milorad Dodik tried to discredit both him and Judge Sena Uzunović. She emphasized that Konaković's political career boils down to manipulation, scheming, and trading in principles, all for personal promotion and to serve the interests of his Western mentors. Vulić added that if Konaković is so quick to hand out labels like "liar," he should also be prepared to face the truth himself. She pointed out that while Konaković is protected, the judiciary, under his orders, persecutes dissenters, with the most recent example being Professor Dr. Sebija Izetbegović. "If you believe in the work of institutions, then why is it that during your time, certain people are dragged through the courts on political orders, while you command it and calmly watch the selective application of the law?" Vulić asked. She stated that Konaković, who leads the party People and Justice /NiP/ and is the only politician boasting a "civic" agenda, acts in an authoritarian manner without legitimacy, undermining the Dayton Peace Agreement and ignoring the constitutional order. "Your power does not come from the people, but from the whip given to you by Schmidt. But if you had even a shred of political experience, you would know that neither the law nor institutions can be trampled by decrees of foreign governors," Vulić emphasized, noting that Schmidt is neither the law nor the Parliamentary Assembly. She sent a message to Konaković saying that he will never be anything again, let alone the president of some so-called civic BiH. "Because BiH is not your experiment; it is Dayton-based, complex, with three constituent peoples and two entities. You will not decide what Republika Srpska can or cannot do. You will not shape justice, and even less history. Nothing lasts forever, Elmedin. Especially not your hypocrisy," Vulić said. She emphasized that, unlike Konaković, Dodik has never hidden his political stance nor concealed himself behind anyone. "Unlike you, he received direct support from the people in democratic and transparent elections in Republika Srpska. And yes, throughout BiH, everyone knows who stands behind every one of his words, those who will never stand behind you - the people," Vulić said.
