POTENTIAL COOPERATION IN PRODUCTION OF NEW MATERIALS

BANJA LUKA, JULY 23 /SRNA/ - Companies from Tatarstan have the potential to establish significant cooperation with firms from Republika Srpska, in line with previously signed agreements on launching the production of new materials in petrochemicals, construction, and other sectors, it was emphasized during a meeting between the Minister of Energy and Mining of Srpska, Petar Đokić, and the delegation from Tatarstan.
The meeting provided an opportunity to present the energy sector potentials of both Republika Srpska and the Republic of Tatarstan, where oil processing plays a key role in the economy, the Government's Public Relations Bureau said in a statement. It was agreed at the meeting that companies from Republika Srpska operating in the energy sector, along with representatives of the relevant ministry, will attend the fair in Tatarstan on August 26. This event will serve as a prelude to the participation of businesses from Srpska at the Tatarstan Energy Forum, scheduled for April next year. The meeting was also attended by the Minister of Economy and Entrepreneurship, Vojin Mitrović. The Tatarstan delegation was headed by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Industry and Trade Oleg Korobchenko. The guests emphasized that they have a well-developed industry, particularly in petrochemicals, and that, as a republic, they are aiming to establish their own gas distribution system. On this occasion, Đokić proposed a commodity loan as one possible form of cooperation in the energy sector, which would help boost trade between Republika Srpska and the Republic of Tatarstan. "I proposed that we define an agreement on a commodity loan. We need the reconstruction of the power distribution network, replacement of connection points and meters, as well as the renewal of mining equipment and machinery, which includes vehicles with specific characteristics, transportation systems, and other supporting equipment. This form of cooperation would be highly significant," Đokić explained. He stated that the value of the distribution network reconstruction could exceed EUR 100 million. Đokić said that the meeting also covered the processing and production of biofuels, and one of the topics was the construction of mobile stations for compressed natural gas, which will be more clearly defined in the coming period.
