CVIJANOVIĆ SUBMITS INITIATIVE TO PRESIDENCY TO NOMINATE PRESIDENT TRUMP FOR NOBEL PEACE PRIZE

EAST SARAJEVO, August 22 /SRNA/ - Serb member of the BiH Presidency Željka Cvijanović has submitted an initiative to the BiH Presidency to nominate President of the United States of America Donald Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.
In the explanation of this initiative, Cvijanović emphasized that during his second term, President Donald Trump, through his diplomatic engagement and personal authority, achieved results that left a significant mark on international relations and made a major contribution to stabilizing numerous global crises. "Appreciating his efforts and achievements in the field of peace, I consider it justified and deserved that the BiH Presidency adopts a decision to propose His Excellency President Donald J. Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize," it is stated in the initiative of the Serb member of the Presidency. She stressed that in a short period since assuming office as the 47th President of the United States, President Trump, through proactive action, contributed to halting several armed conflicts and resolving serious security crises. "The peace agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan, concluded in August at the White House, marked the end of the longstanding conflict in the South Caucasus and opened the perspective of a new era of regional cooperation and security. Also visible is his engagement in Asia, where, precisely through the diplomatic efforts of the U.S. administration under President Trump, conflicts between India and Pakistan, as well as between Thailand and Cambodia, were ended. The truce in Yemen, concluded in May this year, enabled the halting of escalation in the Red Sea region and the creation of conditions for humanitarian activities. Through the efforts of President Trump, in June this year, the signing of a peace agreement in Washington halted the conflict between Rwanda and the DR Congo, testifying to the global character of the U.S. president's activities in the interest of peace," the Serb member of the Presidency emphasized. Cvijanović also underlined the indispensable role of President Trump in efforts to achieve peace in Europe, as well as peace initiatives and an innovative approach in the Middle East aimed at preventing wider escalation in the region through contacts with Israel, Iran and Palestine, which contributed to strengthening the prospects for stability in one of the most security-sensitive regions in the world. "It is clear that the diplomatic efforts of President Trump have produced visible and tangible results in different parts of the world – from Europe, through Africa, to Asia and the Middle East. The efforts of President Trump have significantly enhanced global security and stability. In line with the above, I believe it is justified that the BiH Presidency, at its 25th regular session, considers this item on the agenda and adopts a decision on the official nomination of His Excellency Donald J. Trump, President of the United States of America, for the Nobel Peace Prize," states the initiative of the Serb member of the Presidency. The regular session of the BiH Presidency is scheduled for Monday, August 25, beginning at 3:00 p.m.
