ŽUPLJANIN: RADICAL ISLAMIST MOVEMENTS SERIOUS THREAT IN BiH

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 25 /SRNA/ - Security expert Slobodan Župljanin stated that radical Islamist movements, groups, and individuals represent a serious threat throughout BiH in the context of the complex global security situation.

BANJA LUKA, SEPTEMBER 25 /SRNA/ - Security expert Slobodan Župljanin stated that radical Islamist movements, groups, and individuals represent a serious threat throughout BiH in the context of the complex global security situation.

"It is well known that radical Islamist movements are active in the Federation of BiH, often engaging in planning, organizing, and carrying out terrorist actions both domestically and abroad," Župljanin told SRNA. He pointed out that in recent decades every terrorist attack in Europe and the world has been linked to Islamist movements in BiH. "This places BiH at the very top of the list of countries that pose a security threat to peace and stability worldwide," Župljanin stressed. He emphasized that the lenient attitude of authorities and the judiciary in BiH encourages Islamist movements to act more radically. "Most members are either not prosecuted or receive minimal sentences," Župljanin noted. Recently, Islamist Adil Ćenanović harassed a Serb family in Bihać for playing the song Rejoice, Serb People, shouting "Takbir - Allahu Akbar" outside their house. He posted the incident on social media and issued threats. "Takbir! Allahu Akbar! Let's see who dares to play it again," said Ćenanović, wearing a headband with Arabic script. In the Federation of BiH, attacks on Serb returnees, their property, and religious sites have become increasingly frequent.
