MEDIĆ: FIRMLY AND STRONGLY STAND WITH LEADERSHIP OF REPUBLIKA SRPSKA

PALE, OCTOBER 25 /SRNA/ – The President of the Association "Creators of Republika Srpska" Stevan Medić emphasized in Pale that, as in the 1990s, it is necessary to stand firmly, strongly, and decisively with the leadership of Republika Srpska in order to preserve it.

"This day for the creators of Republika Srpska is an important day, a date and achievement that we have managed to realize. In this area, the most important decisions were made during the period from 1991. to 1995. Thanks to the unity of the leadership at the time, the wisdom of Radovan Karadžić, the courage of Momčilo Krajišnik, and the heroism of Ratko Mladić, we managed to preserve our people so that they would not experience what happened from 1941 to 1945. We succeeded in obtaining a state, which was our goal," Medić said during the ceremony unveiling the monument dedicated to the creators and defenders of Republika Srpska. He added that it was thanks to the unity of the Serb people at the time that Republika Srpska was created. "I hope that Republika Srpska will be stronger and better. We call for unity and solidarity and ask all political parties to stand shoulder to shoulder when it comes to preserving Republika Srpska. No one has the right to oppose Republika Srpska or to destroy it. We have shed much blood; many of our sons lie buried in the ground, having given their lives for Republika Srpska. Only united and harmonious can we survive and move forward," Medić said. Today in Pale, a monument dedicated to the creators and defenders of Republika Srpska was unveiled. The monument, a work by academician Milivoj Unković, is located at the Square of the Creators of Republika Srpska and, together with the building of the Association "Creators of Republika Srpska", forms a unified whole. The headquarters of the Association is located in the building of the Small Hall, which from today bears the name House of Republika Srpska. Certificates of appreciation from the Association will be awarded to donors and deserving individuals who contributed with their support, work, and personal engagement to the equipping of the House of Republika Srpska and the construction of the monument. The Association was founded in 2013 on the initiative and with the selfless contribution of the first Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska, Momčilo Krajišnik. Its membership consists of deputies of the first Assembly of the Serb people in BiH, established on October 24, 1991, members of the first Government of Republika Srpska, heads of executive institutions, and descendants of the creators of Republika Srpska.
