STORY OF DEEPLY CRIMINALIZED JUDICIARY
ISTOČNO SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 28 /SRNA/ – The "spengavanje" scandal is not only about the illegal government of the Federation of BiH /FBiH/ and Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić, but also concerns a judiciary that is deeply criminalized, believes security expert Dževad Galijašević.
Galijašević told SRNA that Nikšić, who is at the centre of this scandal, should not just leave the position of prime minister, but should go to prison together with FBiH Minister of Interior Rama Isak and Director of the Federal Police Administration Vahid Munjić, who are part of this scandal. According to him, the manner of communication visible in messages made public resembles mafia-like behaviour. "When you look at this type of communication, where people are informed in short messages about what to do, what has been received, and what has been done, you see mafia-style communication, which does not fit for the government, and that the FBiH judiciary is criminalized," emphasized Galijašević. Regarding statements by FBiH Interior Minister Rama Isak that information from the investigation against Nikšić and Munjić did not originate from the federal police or the Ministry of Interior, Galijašević has stressed that this is not true, because the information was not only released through the media. "This information was delivered to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office, then forwarded to Poskok /Special Department of the Federal Prosecutor's Office/ that did nothing about it," he said. He stressed that the first issue to address is how the FBiH government interacts with organised crime, "spengava/order to arrest/" the opposition, orders arrests, and conducts staged trials, and only after that should it be investigated who in the intelligence and security agencies provides data to the media. For several days, there has been talk in FBiH about published messages in which FBiH Prime Minister Nermin Nikšić requests from Federal Police Administration Director Vahid Munjić to "spenga", i.e. arrest those "responsible for crime in the FBiH Motorways company". Additionally, messages were published in which Nikšić asks Munjić to assist with the employment of a specific candidate in the Judicial Police, as well as messages in which, through a staff member, Nikšić requests a promotion for a member of the Federal Police Administration. Munjić also helped the federal prime minister transfer a Border Police officer from the Hum-Foča crossing to Sarajevo International Airport, while Nikšić's Chief of Staff facilitated the employment of Munjić's relative as Executive Director at the BH Postal Service company.
