KOJIĆ: UNCONSTITUTIONAL DECISION ON ESTABLISHING OFFICE OF CHIEF EU NEGOTIATOR

SARAJEVO, OCTOBER 30 /SRNA/ – SNSD representative in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH Milorad Kojić told SRNA that the House's decision to establish the Office of the Chief Negotiator with the EU is unconstitutional, as it stipulates that the Chief Negotiator and their deputies would be appointed by the members of the House of Representatives.

"Passing a decision on this issue falls under the jurisdiction of the Council of Ministers. The `Troika`, with its `majority`, is violating the Constitution," Kojić emphasized. He stated that SNSD representatives did not attend the session because they did not want to participate in unconstitutional actions. The decision to establish the Office of the Chief EU Negotiator was adopted with the votes of the "Troika" coalition and their partners, the SDA, as well as opposition parties from Republika Srpska — PDP, SDS, and the Lista za pravdu i red /List for Justice and Order/. A conclusion inviting parliamentary caucuses to submit their proposals for the Chief Negotiator and their deputies by November 10 was also adopted. The Legislative Office of the Council of Ministers noted that the Presidency of BiH cannot be excluded from the process of appointing the Chief Negotiator.
